About the Journal

The Ugandan Journal of Management and Public Policy Studies is a multidisciplinary high-quality, open access and double-blind peer-reviewed research journal published by Uganda Management Institute (UMI).

Aims and Scope

The Journal aims to provide an in-depth analysis of developments in public administration, business, management, leadership and public policy as they apply to the public, business firms, private and not-for-profit sectors. The UJMPPS also accepts original theoretical and empirical research papers, literature reviews, book reviews, case studies, analytical and simulation models, and technical notes from researchers, academics, practitioners, professionals, and students worldwide. The UJMPPS has been available in print format with an ISSN of 2078-7049 since 2009. Recently, the journal obtained an online ISSN of 2959-4316; therefore, all upcoming journal issues will be accessible in both print and online formats. The UJMPPS does not charge authors Article Processing Charge (APC) for any of the submissions we receive as we believe quality research should be freely accessible to everyone without any financial barriers.

Authors are encouraged to submit papers in areas including but not limited to: Public Administration and Governance, Public-Private Partnerships, Public Sector Innovation, Leadership and Organizational Development, Technology and Innovation Management, Comparative Public Administration, Social Entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility, Urban Planning and Sustainable Cities, Ethics and Accountability in Public Administration, Sustainable Development and Environmental Policy, Public Policy Analysis and Evaluation, Business Management and Strategy, Education Policy and Administration, Gender and Diversity in the Workplace, Public Financial Management, and Human Resource Management.

Our Editorial Process

Submission

Submission and Preliminary Review

Authors must first create an account in the journal’s online submission platform. The Editor-in-Chief evaluates whether the manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope

Peer Review

Peer Review and Reviewer Feedback

If the manuscript meets the required standards, it is forwarded to two independent reviewers under a double-blind review process to maintain anonymity

Revision Process

Author Revisions and Assessment

Authors are requested to revise the manuscript in response to reviewer comments. The Editor evaluates the revissions. If satisfactory, the article moves to the next stage.

Publication

Final Preparation and Publication

The manuscript is edited for language, clarity and consistency.Final proofreading and formatting adjustments are completed.The final version is approved and published
